Commercial Kitchen Cleaning Cloths: Viscose OEM Buyer Guide

WonderCloth · Updated: 2026-09-05

For restaurant and hotel kitchens, choose a reusable cleaning cloth by the surface, soil, laundering routine and replacement cost—not by the word ‘eco’. Knitted viscose/rayon cloths are an option for absorbent daily surface wiping. Match the actual sample to your grease, rinsing and hygiene procedures before placing a bulk or private-label order.

Which kitchen task are you buying for?

Separate countertop spills, cooled stove surfaces and equipment exteriors from floor cleaning and dish drying. Specify a separate cloth allocation for each task. For baked-on grease, agree a compatible detergent and cleaning method; a cloth alone is not a universal degreaser or disinfectant.

Viscose, microfiber or nonwoven?

Viscose/rayon describes a regenerated-cellulose fibre, not a fabric construction. Knitted pile, spunlace nonwoven and cellulose sponge cloths are different products even when they contain cellulose. Compare absorbency, rinseability, wet handling and lint on the intended surface. Fine glass finishing may require a separately tested polishing cloth.

A practical sample comparison

Use the same cooled stainless-steel test surface, measured soil quantity, water temperature, detergent dose and wiping strokes for each sample. Record residual soil and lint, then rinse and check retained grease. Repeat your intended laundering routine and measure dimensional change and edge damage. Set acceptance limits with the supplier; this is a proposed buyer test, not a published WonderCloth performance result.

What to put in a wholesale RFQ

Send the destination market, use case, fibre composition, finished dimensions, single-layer fabric GSM and number of layers, edge finish, colours, quantity and pack format. Ask for wet-use and wash-care instructions. Request separate quotes for available constructions and custom yarn or printed packaging. MOQ, sample availability and lead time must be confirmed for that configuration.

Colour coding and evidence

Colour allocation can support your kitchen cleaning procedure, but it is not a product-level guarantee of hygiene. Request documents that identify the actual cloth sample, treatment and test scope. Do not transfer an upstream yarn certificate or one treated sample’s result to every finished SKU. A polyester-reinforced cloth should not be described as wholly compostable without applicable finished-product evidence.

Questions buyers ask

Can one cloth cover the kitchen and floor?

Use separate allocations to avoid transferring soil between tasks. Specify sizes, colours and care procedures for each area.

Is a viscose kitchen cloth automatically nonwoven?

No. Fibre composition and construction are separate specifications. Ask whether the offered cloth is knitted, woven, nonwoven or sponge-based.

Can I order private-label packs?

WonderCloth accepts enquiries for size, colour, edge, label and packaging customisation. Confirm the final composition, MOQ and delivery schedule with a sample-based quotation.
